Sarah Nixey, one-third of the pop trio Black Box Recorder, has increasingly earned praise as a solo artist, known for her unmistakable voice and fearless approach to songwriting. Nixey has long occupied a unique space where art-pop, electronic music, and alternative sensibilities intersect. On her latest album ‘Sea Fever’, released in February this year, she created a richly cinematic body of work, and these remixes expand that vision further, revealing new emotional and rhythmic dimensions within the songs. Building on the atmospheric world of the original album, Sea Fever: The Remixes invites a diverse group of artists to rework a handful of standout tracks from the record, offering fresh perspectives on Nixey’s distinctive songwriting and vocal style.
Speaking about the project, Nixey said: “It’s fascinating to hear these songs take on completely new lives. Each remixer has found something different in them, and together they form a collection of songs that’s both surprising and deeply connected to the spirit of the original album.”

‘NIGHT WALKS’ - released - 5 OCTOBER 2018
"The one-time member of Black Box Recorder has blossomed as a solo artist, approaching pop from daring new vantage points." Clash
“A triumph of hallucinatory avant pop...Nixey’s songwriting shows new depth and maturity...captures perfectly that sense of night-time disturbance, shifting between dream worlds and waking nightmare.” The Quietus
"A sophisticated pop palette is garnished by Nixey’s elegant balance of bittersweet spoken word narratives and evocative chorus lines." God Is In The TV
"Atmospheric and lyrical, the songs carry lovely snatches of tune and are delivered in a breathy song-speak, a soft croon or a classic female lead style." The Vanguard
"The seductively Siren-like (in the Greek mythological sense) voice of Black Box Recorder's third solo album Night Walks, out 5th October, was conceived in an insomniac state, which fits the air of lurking danger that surrounds the lyrics amid the stomping, cresting electronica." Sweeping The Nation
“Night Walks exudes a satisfying sonic cohesion that will please anyone who has ever been interested in the Dorset-born songstress’ work; it is undoubtedly SARAH NIXEY’s best solo album to date.” The Electricity Club
